What does Mat Equipamentos Para Gases Ltda do?

The Company originated with the founding of COMPANY TECHNIQUE OF MATERIAL AGAINST FIRE LTDA, in June 1940. The objective was the manufacture and commercialization of fire extinguishers. Already in 1948 incorporated to its activities the representation of vehicles and equipment of fire fighting, importing to Brazil the first fire fighting truck equipped with MAGIRUS ladder. In 1956 it changed its corporate name and legal form to MAT-FIRE S / A - FIRE ENGINEERING, being its 100% national capital until today. In 1956, following the industrial growth of the country, began the manufacture of cylinders for the packing of gases under high pressure, becoming already at the end of the following decade, its main industrial activity. In continuity with the development plan, new and modern equipment was acquired from 1995, allowing a great increase of the production capacity, including in its product line special cylinders, like cylinders for vehicular natural gas, which places the MAT in the select group of the world's major manufacturers of high pressure cylinders. In 1998 the company had its Quality System certified according to the ISO 9000 standards by TÜV CERT Brasil, RWTÜV / DAR, recognized and respected internationally renowned German certification body. In 1999, it simplified its business name to MAT-Incêndio S / A. In early 2000, to meet the growing demand for natural gas cylinders, a new manufacturing line was incorporated into the existing fleet, substantially increasing the manufacturing capacity of these cylinders. Also in the first quarter of 2000, a modern industrial unit was inaugurated in Cajamar, SP, for the manufacture of cylinders and valves for air and vehicular natural gas. In the year 2001, it modernized the industrial park of the Dutra unit, which allowed the growth in the production of cylinders for natural gas from 4,000 to 12,000 cylinders per month. In 2002 the Cajamar unit, today the company's headquarters, inaugurated a new industrial building housing the entire production of cylinders for air gases, in all its variety of types and capacities. In 2005 its structure was expanded through the assembly of the new Jundiaí-SP plant, reaching a capacity of 40,000 cylinders / month. MAT is continuously investing in new technologies to meet the demand for cylinders on the four continents for which the company already exports its products.
