ElringKlinger is a German multinational company, founded by 2 companies, in Elring in 1879, in Stuttgart and RichardKlinger, in 1885 in Austria, where in 1994, with a merger of Elring GmbH and Richard Klinger Automotive, it was renamed ElringKlinger GmbH and later ElringKlinger AG.
Currently, the group is made up of 48 units across the world, in 21 countries, with a total of 10,000 employees. The head office is located in Dettingen, in southern Germany.
The South America unit is located in Brazil, where in 1996, it was established in the country after the invitation from several assemblers. The city of Piracicaba was chosen as headquarters due to important factors, such as specialized labor, tax benefits, access to highways, proximity to customers, among others and in 1997, it officially started operations.
The company's product line includes cylinder head gaskets, special gaskets, plastic modules, plastic components, thermo-acoustic protection system (heat deflectors), electric batteries for hybrid vehicles, gas purification system, test cells, engineering plastic, engine testing services, tool technology and aftermarket. Of the 90 million vehicles used in the world in 2017, ElringKlinger is present in 70 million.
There is a Brazilian industrial branch of metaloplastic joints, mechanical sealing joints, heat deflectors and plastic covers, with the aim of reducing the levels of CO2 and other pollutants.
One of ElringKlinger's main challenges is to maintain its high standard of quality, safety and products and services as a supplier to almost all manufacturers of vehicles and engines, components for engines, transmissions, or exhausts and also for alternative drive technologies, development monitoring and other market requirements.
In order to gain more efficiency, the company is expanding. With an investment of R $ 20 million and it's expected to create 40 new direct jobs, the German company will use machines and equipment for the plastic injection unit. Since April 2018, a new building is being built to open a new production unit, dedicated to the production of plastic parts (CSS Prime project, GM plastic cover), in addition to other selected areas and other activities and expansion.
