Catalise was founded in 1976 by its partners Nelson Helou and Pier Setten. The company started by supplying postmetals to meet the needs of Brazilian companies that needed a Brazilian supplier, as this type of raw material was only imported.
Catalise is a major supplier to the steel, steelmaking, automotive, abrasive, electrodes and pigment markets. Catalise supplies to the largest industries of these sectors in national and international markets.

Our customers are among the largest companies in the world in these industries. In the friction market, for example, the company supplies materials to brake pad producers. Approximately 100% of the entire Brazilian fleet and 25% of the European fleet have Catalysis materials.
